2023 ENAEP Project: Powwow Dancing:
| What is a Pow-Wow?: A Pow-Wow originated from many tribal traditional ceremonies that included gathering together to sing, drum, dance and be in community. It is a contemporary gathering of Native People across tribes, clans, bands and languages to come together to share in drumming, singing, dancing, art and food. Typically, at modern day Pow-Wows, there is both a drumming competition and Dancing Competition wherein winners receive gifts and prizes. There are certain styles of dances typically seen at most modern day Pow-Wows. They are as follows with links to videos showcasing what these dances look like: |

- MT Crow Fair Pow-Wow 2023: 2023 Crow Fair – Saturday Grand Entry – YouTube
- AZ Gathering of Nations Pow-Wow 2022: 2022 Gathering of Nations Pow Wow – YouTube
Note: it is not respectful of Native people to refer to anything other than these Native gatherings as a Pow-Wow. So, for example, referring to meeting together as a Pow-Wow, or even how the Boy Scouts utilized the word Pow-Wow for their events is not respectful.
